Perfectly Imperfect. That about sums up this portrait of this lovely family. As I was doing the culling and editing in preparation for their viewing appointment, I wondered whether to include this one. It was kind of okay – but what would Mum think of middle child not quite looking at the camera. I decided that it was worth putting in front of this Mum, because I knew that there was a possibility that she just might like it.
Well, it turns out that this ‘perfectly imperfect’ portrait shows up the character of certain family members just right, and it was worth keeping.
I love it when clients notice certain characteristics of family members shining through in an image – and can accept that not everything is perfect, but it can be perfectly imperfect.
Having said that – there’s also plenty of moments that are definately out-takes and they’re best left to me to cull out all together!
And, a little something I’m trying out, is applying my digital scrapbooking skills to a photo or two when the mood takes me to create a little individual art piece for your coffee table or wall. In this case, the client supplied me with a favourite quote to apply to this piece.
